What does educational wellbeing look like?

cha{lle}nging educational wellbeing

Educational Wellbeing is an holistic approach to whole health in learning spaces, using positive psychology and lifestyle medicine tools.

Holistic is the first key word.

I use both the Te Whare Tapa Wha and the cha{lle}nging pillars of wellbeing in my work - because to be “well” and healthy, we need to consider the social, emotional, spiritual, mental and physical components of our lives.

Holistic health is critical to educational achievement: learning cannot happen if students are not well, and equally, educators cannot teach if they’re not well.

Educational Wellbeing is the intersect of health/learning and an approach to education that meets the needs of individuals in a way that cares for our educators.

It’s a solution-focused empowering process that considers us as whole beings. We are accepted, uplifted and resourced to be authentic, successful and happy.

I support clients (youth, whanau, educators, school leaders) to reach their wellbeing and educational goals in coaching sessions and workshops.

I use a huge range of tools and skills, resources and experience, to inspire self-confidence and self empowerment to adopt positive psychology and lifestyle medicine. This includes sleep, movement, stress management, mindset, knowing our why, nutrition, connections with others, and identifying the barriers in your way, your goals and values, and your action plan.

I am passionate about creating safe spaces in which we can be ourselves, grow and develop, and create success on our terms & needs.

1:1 COACHING

1:1 wellness coaching is like having a cheerleader and football coach on each of your shoulders! (Can you hear them?! “You can do it! Hup! Do it again!” and “Yay! You did it!”!!)

Completely integrated and tailored to your specific needs, 1:1 coaching assesses your current place, identifies your goals, and then plots the map between the two points.

Consider me as your personal navigator on the journey… whether that is stress management or better sleep, I’ll be beside you.

With a background in mental health, nutrition, physical health and neurodiversity, I can support you with anything from alcohol intake to phone addiction, losing weight to exercise, time management to mindset work.

I love working with whanau to support them achieve improved health and education outcomes.

"Play is foundational for bonding relationships and fostering tolerance. It’s where we learn to trust and where we learn about the rules of the game. Play increases creativity and resilience, and it’s all about the generation of diversity—diversity of interactions, diversity of behaviors, diversity of connections.”
